Cut the body weight of the previous-generation Super Duty® with high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy. Reinvest the weight savings in a stronger high-strength steel frame and chassis components. Put the muscle where it really counts to work for you on a tough job site or on rugged off-road terrain.
Todays Ford Super Duty® is the toughest heavy-duty pickup we have ever built. We started by cutting body weight with high-strength and aluminum alloy. We then invested some of that weight savings where it really counts - in stronger axles, steering and chassis components, and a fully boxed frame built of over 95 percent high-strength steel.* The result is a Super Duty that boasts class-leading payload and towing.**
*Compared with previous-generation Super Duty.
**Best-in-class payload when properly configured with 6.2L gas engine. Best-in-class towing when properly configured with 6.7L diesel engine. Class is Full-Size Pickups over 3,856 kgs. GVWR based on Ford segmentation.
The Super Duty® has the only high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body in its class.* Aluminum alloy is substantially lighter than the previous body, yet it is remarkably strong. It is also more dent-and-ding resistant and not subject to red rust corrosion. Use of aluminum alloy allowed some of the weight savings to be reinvested where it matters the most, especially in the frame that is the foundation of strength and toughness.

Like the fully boxed high-strength steel frame, the axles are stronger in today’s generation of the Ford Super Duty®. And the Super Duty is the only pickup in its class utilizing the solid front axle on all 4x4 models.* The solid axle provides strength and weight-bearing capability for operating an aftermarket front-end upfit.

Super Duty® comes with standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) and Trailer Sway Control on both single- and
dual-rear-wheel models. Both systems use gyroscopic sensors and apply a combination of reduced engine power and selective wheel braking to help maintain the stability of the vehicle and the trailer in tow.1
We committed this latest generation of the Super Duty® to over 19 million kilometers of testing, under real and simulated conditions. We also put prototype models in the hands of people like you. Our goal: Build a line of heavy-duty pickups with extraordinary performance and capability.
How much more can you ask of a heavy-duty pickup that carries more payload and tows more than any other vehicle in its class?* For the capability you need on the toughest jobs you tackle every day, Super Duty is the pickup that can do it all.
*Class is Full-Size Pickups over 3,856 kgs. GVWR based on Ford segmentation.
The heavy-duty pickup you will want on your work crew is the Ford Super Duty® — and for a lot of big reasons. Best-in-class payload and conventional tow ratings — plus a gross combination weight rating that is also best in class.* Super Duty delivers exceptional capability as well when it comes down to towing the really big loads, with either its maximum 5th-wheel or best-in-class gooseneck tow rating.* And Super Duty offers class-exclusive** Trailer Reverse Guidance*** that helps make maneuvering big trailers a difficult task of the past.
*Best-in-class payload when properly configured with 6.2L gas engine. Best-in-class towing and GCWR when properly configured with 6.7L diesel engine. Class is Full-Size Pickups over 3,856 kgs. GVWR based on Ford segmentation.

Some operating conditions, such as long idling, do not generate enough engine heat for the diesel to automatically burn off soot in the diesel particulate filter. That is where available Operator-Commanded Regeneration with Active Inhibit comes in. When the warning light comes on, pushing the activation button raises the exhaust temperature to burn off the soot, after which the exhaust temperature reverts to normal. The active inhibit feature allows delay of regeneration when the vehicle is sitting over combustible materials such as dry leaves or grass. Once in a safe place, the driver can manually start the regeneration process. Recommended for commercial applications.
Compressed natural gas (CNG) and propane are advanced fuel options to unleaded gasoline with the CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package,* available on the 6.2L gas V8. What is more, the CNG/Propane Package with the addition of the necessary upfits for bi-fuel capability enables the 6.2L V8 to run on either liquefied propane gas or unleaded gas. The 6.2L V8 is a flex-fuel engine, capable of running on E85 (85% ethanol, 15% regular gasoline); the available 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel is B20-capable (20% biodiesel, 80% petrodiesel).
*Vehicle will be equipped with the standard factory gasoline fuel system. The CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package includes hardened exhaust valves and valve seats. It does not include compressed natural gas/propane fuel tanks and lines, etc. See your dealer for details.
